In our series on how AI is transforming SaaS, we now turn to our portfolio company Hives – a company driving real impact in innovation and idea management.
We asked their team how they are integrating AI into their offerings, processes, and day-to-day operations. Here are their answers:
1. How are you currently working to integrate AI into your product offering?
We’re actively building AI into the Hives platform to help innovation managers get more out of the ideas they collect. The most concrete example right now is an AI-powered and interactive summary feature that automatically synthesizes collections of ideas, surfacing patterns, clusters and themes that would otherwise take hours to review manually.
The goal is simple: make it easier to act on ideas, not just collect them.
2. How do you use AI in product development and internal processes?
We use AI tools throughout our development workflow − from writing and refining prompts for new features to code assistance and testing.
On the product side, we’re using a GCP Vertex AI integration and spending a lot of time on the less glamorous but important stuff: getting structured outputs right, ensuring language matching works correctly across locales, and iterating until the feature actually behaves the way a real user would expect.
Internally, AI has become a natural part of how we work across marketing, content, and customer-facing communication.
3. How do you work to integrate AI into your everyday work?
Honestly, it’s less about a formal AI strategy and more about just using it constantly − writing, research, summarizing, brainstorming, debugging, drafting outreach, reviewing copy. It’s the same shift everyone is going through, the people who treat it as a tool rather than a talking point tend to get the most out of it.
